Largest custom Amels superyacht coming in 2021

Announced this week by Amels, the Dutch shipyard is to start construction on its largest motor yacht project to date; a 78-metre custom superyacht designed by Espen Oeino. The project, which was signed during this year’s Monaco Yacht Show, is the first partnership with the Monaco-based designer and will be ready to cruise the seas in 2021.

According to Amels, this will be its largest project by volume, even outweighing the 83-metre Heywood-designed Here Comes the Sun at an impressive 2,850 GT. The yacht’s exterior and general arrangement was created by Oeino together with the owner, while Amels’ Full Custom team is in charge of developing the naval architecture and engineering of the vessel. No further details have yet been released.

This is a particularly significant contract for Amels and a great compliment for our Full Custom team,” comments Rose Damen, Amels Commercial Director. “All of us at Amels are looking forward to working with the owner’s team and the yacht’s designers to create this beautiful new custom yacht with the absolute highest quality that Amels is renowned for.

On the interior side of the project, Zuretti Interior Designers have been selected by the owner to create the custom guest spaces on board. “We are very proud of the trust that the owner and AMELS shipyard have placed in us when selecting our design studio to take part in this project,” says François Zuretti. “Being involved with the new generation of custom-made AMELS yachts is yet another great opportunity to pursue our commitment to developing unique yachts.”
