Joining Northrop & Johnson with more than 25 years of yachting experience — 20 of which were spent exclusively in Asia — Lee is the founder of and Managing Director of Lee Marine, which he established in 1997. With more than 700 yachts sold and delivered, Lee Marine is one of the oldest, most established brokerages in Asia.

While Lee will retain Lee Marine for all dealership rights under their exclusive agreements for Thailand along with vessels smaller than 30 meters, he will assume the role of managing director for Northrop & Johnson Asia effective immediately.

“We are extremely excited and honored to have Josh joining the Northrop & Johnson senior management team as Managing Director for Asia where we expect to see significant growth in the coming years” says Northrop & Johnson COO Daniel Ziriakus. “We feel that under the revamped management, our Asia team will be able to better assist our clients and achieve greater success, while being more integrated with our Australian office, four offices in Europe and six offices in the U.S.”

“I see this as a natural move for both Lee Marine and Northrop & Johnson Asia as we will concentrate both companies on their core strengths. Both companies under my leadership will continue to thrive in their respective areas. Lee Marine will continue its award-winning sales and after-sales service of new and used vessels smaller than 30 meters and Northrop & Johnson will concentrate on large brokerage sales, new construction and project management, charter and vessel management services,” says Lee.

Lee promises to deliver the high standards the industry has come to expect from him with respect to his new role at Northrop & Johnson, which has an established 10 years presence in the region. The new management will reaffirm Northrop & Johnson Asia as the benchmark large yacht brokerage in the region.

Northrop & Johnson look forward to an exciting new chapter in the Asian market with Joshua at the helm.

Northrop & Johnson welcomes Martin Holmes as General Manager Asia.

Martin considers himself fortunate to have been around boats for much of his life. Hailing from the UK, he has a wide range of yachting experience and spent several years sailing in the Mediterranean and Australia before heading to Asia where he joined Lee Marine shortly after its inception in 1997. During his 20 years in Asia, he has been involved in hundreds of yacht sales, both brokerage and new construction, and has witnessed the steady growth of the yachting industry in Asia firsthand.

In 2018, Martin joined Northrop & Johnson as general manager of the Asia operation, which includes offices in Thailand and Hong Kong.

Martin enjoys introducing clients to yachting and is known for his personable style and willingness to go the extra mile for his clients. “When you take time to understand the clients wants and needs it becomes a personal mission to service them fully and correctly,” he says. “After all, a successful on-water lifestyle relies on many factors that must be considered and managed, and we are here to turn a client’s dream into reality in the most effective way possible.”

Note from the managing director

If your confused as to why I’ve acquired the license to Northrop and Johnson Asia, please don’t be and I’ll explain the massive benefits.

N&J (as they are affectionately known) were the world’s biggest yacht brokerage last year. They have offices in 14 countries, we’re now part of a very strong global network.

How does the client benefit?

If you’re selling a yacht over 30 meters it will not only appear in our marketing channels throughout Asia, but it will also appear in worldwide searches via N&J instantly.

If you’re a buyer we have tools to drill down into your requests and locate the precise yacht that suits your requirements, allowing loads more choice.

Lee Marine remains the same and will continue to be the highest volume yacht sales company in Asia. Exclusive dealers for Ferretti Group, CDM and Riviera in Thailand.

We hope you enjoy our summer edition of SEA explorer.
