The sporty and adventurous 515 SUV has proven an immediate hit with boating aficionados

Riviera announces addition of exciting new 515 SUV to already impressive Fort Lauderdale display

The immensely popular new-generation 515 SUV from iconic Australian luxury yacht builder Riviera has been added to the marque’s impressive $11 million on-water showcase for the 2014 Fort Lauderdale Boat Show which opens today (October 30 to November 3).

More than 20 orders from around the globe have already been lodged for the sporty and adventurous 515, which made her first public appearance in the United States just six weeks ago.

This clever crossover model will feature alongside Riviera’s stylish new 6000 Sport Yacht, which fittingly will make her Americas Premiere in Fort Lauderdale, the luxury yachting capital of the world.

Also on display from Riviera will be the very versatile 565 SUV, the sophisticated 4400 and 5000 Sport Yachts, a luxurious 50 Enclosed Flybridge and classically inspired Belize 54 Daybridge.

Riviera chairman and owner Rodney Longhurst said the stylish SUV series combines the high-performance, bluewater cruising and fish-raising abilities of the classic Riviera Flybridge with the single-level leisurely entertaining features of the very popular Sport Yacht series.

“The SUV is a perfect pairing of two legendary designs and the result is a vessel like no other – a true bridge between them both,” said Riviera chairman and owner Rodney Longhurst.

“Our global Riviera family of SUV owners tell us that it’s a lot like having two boats in one.”

The 515 joins the larger 565 and smaller 445 models in Riviera’s new SUV collection, all of which have a number of exciting options to suit specific boating applications – from sport fishing to cruising and entertaining.

International sales director Chris McCafferty said the addition of the latest model in the popular SUV series was an added bonus for a Riviera display in Fort Lauderdale that was already set to impress.

“Fort Lauderdale Boat Show is the grand-daddy of luxury yachting events and we anticipate the American love affair with the supremely seaworthy Riviera range will be heightened this year,” he said.

Luxury Riviera yachts are internationally renowned for their purposeful lines, hefty scantlings, their solid offshore feel, spatial sense, luxurious layout and, of course, their reliability and integrity.

“Befitting a pleasure yacht of its calibre, the 515 incorporates clever and convenient alfresco lifestyle concepts and ultramodern technology with luxurious appointments, enhanced serviceability, savvy storage and an exacting eye for detail from fit to finish,” said Mr McCafferty.

Sea trials with twin Volvo Penta IPS2-800s have the 515 SUV cruising at 26-28 knots with a top speed of 31 knots under full load (full fuel and water), and achieving a cruising range of 355nm at 23.9 knots.

Be among the first in the Americas to inspect the impressive 6000 Sport Yacht and the 515 SUV at the on-water display from Riviera, Australia’s favourite and most awarded luxury boat builder, at C Dock at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show from October 29 – November 3.
