World Superyacht Awards 2016 finalists announced

The World Superyacht Awards 2016 will be held om 14th May, 2016 in Florence Italy. These awards recognise the remarkable ingenuity and innovation demanded by the design, engineering and construction of the world’s finest luxury yachts. Attended by the elite of the superyacht world, owners and industry leaders will come together to recognise the finest superyachts launched throughout 2015.

The finalists for the Displacement Motor Yacht 2999GT and Above are iDynasty, 100.9m built by Kusch Yachts and Symphony by Feadship at 101.5 metres.

The finalists for the Displacement Motor Yachts 1,300GT – 2,999GT are Irimari measuring 63.1m by Sunrise Yachts, and Golden Yachts 72.0 O’Pari 3the 81.8m Abeking & Rasmussen built yacht, RoMEA, Feadship’s Savannah and 83.5m and Suerte built by Tankoa at 69.4m.

Other categories include Displacement Motor Yachts of 500GT – 1,299GT; below 500GT of 47m  to below 500GT of 30m to 41.9m. The Finalist for the Refitted Rebuilt and Converted include 10 motor yachts and Asgard, a 42.8m sailing yacht.

With the Awards only a few months away, the judges came together in London recently to decide who would be awarded this year’s prizes. The weekend kicked off with a beautiful dinner held at the Magazine restaurant at the Serpentine – a fitting venue with architecture inspired by waves.
