Cantiere Delle Marche Launches 42 Metre Explorer Yacht Crowbridge

Italian shipyard Cantiere delle Marche has launched a 42 metre explorer named Crowbridge.

Speaking about the launch, CdM co founder Vasco Buonpensiere said: “This is our first launch after the lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It is an injection of optimism for us and for all the nautical compartment.”

CdM founder Ennio Cecchini said the launch, which was delayed by a few weeks, had “huge symbolic significance.” He added that the yard is preparing to launch another two yachts in the coming weeks.

Designed by Florence-based designer Tommaso Spadolini, with naval architecture and engineering by Hydro Tec, Crowbridge has a round displacement hull with a bulbous bow and flat sections aft.

Buonpensiere added that the owner’s instructions were for “a strong, comfortable, reliable vessel featuring technical characteristics similar to that of a merchant ship.”

He added, “He asked for a robust steel construction along with system redundancy and proven commercial-grade components to make his new yacht capable and reliable while maximising quality of life aboard.”

The owner, an experienced yachtsman who has previously worked with Spadolini on other yachts, asked for an ‘elegant and understated’ interior suitable for family use. Emphasis has been put on the yacht’s primary function of allowing the owner to take extended and exclusive holidays in comfort, with a number of areas both inside and out designed specifically for relaxation.

Crowbridge offers accommodation for 14 across seven guest suites, including a full beam owners suite with his and hers bathrooms on the main deck forward, and two VIPS and four guest cabins on the lower deck. Crew quarters for six are on the lower deck forward while the captain’s cabin is found on the flybridge aft of the pilot house.
